Real Madrid midfielder Valverde insists no Baena regrets

Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde has no regrets allegedly punching Villarreal's Alex Baena last Saturday.

Baena has since made a police complaint after being reportedly attacked in the Santiago Bernabeu carpark after victory at Real Madrid. It's been claimed the flashpoint came after taunts about Valverde's unborn child in a previous Copa tie.

Baena has denied the claims, citing nothing was known about complications for Valverde's child until after the game.

Meanwhile, the Athletic says Valverde is not remorseful for his actions and is determined to stand by his claim that Baena had previously insulted his pregnant wife if the matter ends up going to court.
