A bombshell report has emerged over the last 24 hours, which has stated that one of the teams in La Liga has acted on claims of alleged match-fixing. Rayo Vallecano are the side that have taken it upon themselves to act.

As reported by COPE’s Pedro Morata (via MD), Rayo have denounced the alleged match-fixing which is claimed to have affected the SevillaCadiz match from midweek – a fixture that the visitors won 1-0 courtesy of a 96th-minute Sergi Guardiola strike.

The report states that the nature of Cadiz’s victory, which has kept them in the race to avoid relegation, raised suspicions among several of their competitors also aiming to avoid the drop zone – information is also revealed to say that a player raised the alarm on this situation 48 hours before kick-off at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.

Rayo Vallecano are among the clubs that are in the relegation dogfight, and before they would be affected if any alleged wrongdoing took place, they have reported the matter to the relevant authorities.
